Hawes occurs as little market town at a head of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales. A Yorkshire Dales museum is depending in a old railroad terminal, & the Hawes Creamery is front yard to Wensleydale cheese.
Nearby attractions include Hawdraw Force waterfall, and a Buttertubs Pass, which links Wensleydale to Swaledale. Farther down the dale is Aysgarth Falls.
A River Ure runs through a town and a dale, which is one of the honeypot tourist attractions of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Too as a regular market, there are numerous shops, pothouse & tea parlor.
